Are you doing it? Can you honestly say that you 'help your fellow man' with his or her blog? Are you reciprocating? It's a little known fact (although that is slowly changing) that when you help someone you help yourself. There are a few people that have cottoned on to the fact that by syndicating
your blog with 100 or so others you can totally dominate a niche, it really doesn't take that long. The stupid thing is that people are lead to believe that they need to pay for this sort of thing, like it is outside of the realm of possibility for them to be able to do it themselves!
How utterly dis empowering and pathetic! There is power in syndication, and there are entrepreneurs that are getting fat of the fact that the masses can't organise themselves enough to talk to a few of their mates and say "Hey, why don't we all get together and follow each others blog and comment on and share every post to the world via the vast range of social media outlets available to us now?" Damn.... there is an idea and you know what? It might just bloody work!
Of course it works! That is why there are 'tribes' and 'syndicates' popping up everywhere, there is power in it... what totally shits me about the whole situation is there is one person in each organization now sits back, collects a check and calls themselves an expert because they had an idea... Don't get me wrong, I applaud the fact that they had the foresight get the organisation happening, but come on charging people 50 bucks and month and upwards so that they can promote your blogs? Really! In this day and age of web 2.0 there is no need to do that... take my good friend Natalie Louise for example, some great out of the box thinking on her part, she has approached a number of people who she respects and who she follows and who follow her and has created a library of sorts with some great information and can get anyone started with online marketing for FR*E great info and freely available. You don't even need to follow her blog! (But you should cause its a good one)
So where is all of this going? Well, it's simple really, Warren Buffet has a theory on becoming wealthy (and if you don't who Warren Buffet is... Google Him, I'm all about teaching to fish, not giving fish
) he says its a bit like a snow ball, what you need is a really long hill and some really wet snow. Basically what he is saying is that is it might not happen in an instant (its a bit like my post about making money from home).
What do you think would happen if you had a friend or a colleague who had a blog (and lets face it, if you are in business of any sort these days you should have one) and you said to them... hey if I was to follow your blog, and make comments, would you do the same for me? Do you think they would? You are offering something, your time, and realistically it doesn't take much time to read a blog and leave a comment, you do realise this helps you too right? I mean when you leave a comment (and I am talking about a quality thought provoking comment) you will not only will people see that and follow the link you leave behind to your own blog (generating traffic) the search engines pick it up also, creating better SEO for yourself. So how does this help your friend, well it will actually engage others who are surfing to read the post and quite possibly comment themselves. You see nothing creates interest better than others talking about it... I think back to when I lived in Christchurch New Zealand, my parents were visiting and we were at one of the local malls, we were walking along and I said to my father, "How is that for some marketing? Look over there, that shop has all of its windows 'wrapped' up and no one can see in" There was a Que out the door of about 20 people (there were maybe 2-3 people in store) the shop had created such intrigue as to what was going on that people were flocking to see it! Just then my mother said "oh look, there must be something going on, we better go and have a look!" Which was when I turned to my father and said "case and point!"
The fact is, nothing creates interest faster than others interest in it... you see what I mean, its a psychological thing.
So back to our friends blog... of course when he does the same the same thing happens for him or her. It truly is win win. And best of all it cost you
nothing except an investment of your time... and long term can literally provide you with a steady passive income stream, and if that doesn't excite you, you better check and see if you have a pulse.
Right now imagine for a second that you did this with only 5-10 of your friends or colleagues and they all did the same, just like a syndicate now how is your blog looking? Great right? I tell you this is one of (if not the best) way of generating long term traffic and income streams for you and your syndicate. Pretty simple right?
So are you doing it? I can almost guarantee you are not. To make it work you have to all support each other... I was involved in something similar that I had started... There was never any official agreement that we would all do it, I was really relying on integrity... unfortunately it wasn't reciprocated, I was digging and tweeting away, and there was no love coming back my way.... So I stopped....
This can and DOES work..... my advice on the subject is this... Have an agreement with 5-10 others to begin with, help each other out, invest your time... it will pay off... Remember if you are holding up your end of the deal with BLOGS and comments, you are winning anyway, so hit it hard...
Well that is my little rant for the day... feel free to leave your comments here and I will surely reciprocate
After all, that is what it is all about!

Sooooo true, and I have totally had the experience where you seem to have that unspoken syndication with people who just take, take, take and don’t give in return. The way I see it is they are the ones missing out. It is a proven fact that this works, people soon wake up to the antics of those that don’t reciprocate and as you say, you just stop dealing with them.
You know me, im not one to muck around!
Great post mate
cheers

I only know about your blog because you did something to help my blog. I don’t even know what it was.
Maybe you mentioned me in a blog post or you added me to your blog roll. Maybe you just left a comment on my blog. I have no idea actually.
That’s because my blog is IBB powered and the software automatically reciprocates whatever you did. It automatically makes sure that I give you back as much traffic and attention as you gave me (or more).
So it automatically put you in my blogroll and automatically listed you high enoguh to ensure that my readers click your link as often as whatever you did caused my blog to receive visitors and the software to notice your contribution.
I see your name in my blog roll, so I click it to see what you are all about.
You are right. Nobody needs to pay $50/month. This is the Internet. This stuff can be handled automatically and often is handled automatically by whatever software is used to power your blog.
For those who don’t already have software that handles the job of reciprocation, the law of reciprocation still applies. They will feel compelled to personally give back if you give them something.
So as you said… have you helped your fellow blogger today? Have you commented on a blog in your blog roll or on someone’s blog who commented on yours?
That is all a syndicate really is… and yes… they work!
